Green Knights Blank Northland

ASHLAND - St. Norbert College finished out the regular season with a 3-0 win over Northland College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Bay Area Civic Center.

The Green Knights (9-12-4, 9-6-3 NCHA) took the early lead when Lexi Pyykkonen scored her ninth goal of the season with a marker at 13:29 of the first period.

That goal would hold up for St. Norbert until the Green Knights were able to score a pair of insurance goals in the third period. Natasha Smith scored her second goal of the season at 10:44, while Pyykkonen followed up with her 10th of the year to lock up the win at 16:03.

Jessica Schlaff had two assists to also record a multi-point game for St. Norbert.

The Lumberjills outshot the Green Knights 29-27. Northland was 0-for-5 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-3.

Leigh Grall made all 29 saves to get the shutout for St. Norbert. Maggie Cusey had 24 stops for Northland.
