St. Norbert Romps Past Buccaneers

BELOIT - St. Norbert College finished its season with a 76-58 win over Beloit College at Flood Arena.

The Green Knights (10-5) found themselves trailing 15-14 after the first quarter, but went on a commanding 19-2 run in the second quarter to take control.

Sarah Neumann put St. Norbert ahead with a basket on the opening possession of the second quarter to give the Green Knights the lead, and Christine Olijnyk followed with a 3-pointer. Sarah Wiseman then scored nine of the Green Knights' next 14 points as St. Norbert took a 33-17 lead with 5:26 left in the second period. The Green Knights, who scored 26 points in the second quarter, led 40-25 at halftime.

Beloit would get within 10 at 46-36 with 6:14 left in the third quarter, but St. Norbert would put the game away with 15-5 run to go ahead 61-41 on a Wiseman basket with 1:34 left in the period.

Wiseman led the Green Knights with 20 points, while Sarah Ratajczyk added 18 points. The Green Knights shot a lusty 57.1 percent (32-for-56) from the floor.

Beloit shot 46.7 percent (21-for-45) from the floor but was plagued by 32 turnovers. Shelby Kline and Melissa McLean had 16 points apiece for the Buccaneers.
