Green Knights Remain Unbeaten in MWC

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College improved to 4-0 in the Midwest Conference with a 9-0 win over Illinois College at Western Racquet and Fitness Club. The Green Knights later dropped an 8-1 non-conference decision to UW-Oshkosh.

Meg Witt and Sofie Koppmann opened doubles play against Illinois College with an 8-2 win at No. 1 over Sally Hixson and Lisa Noggle. Jordyn Lawatsch and Lauren Paulson teamed up to beat Ariel Rhoades and Lena Reed 8-0 at No. 2. Claire Hetzel and Stephanie Doerfert then topped Kalisa Goertz and Kitty Justice 8-2 at at No. 3.

Lawatsch topped Hixson 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1. Witt and Paulson both had 6-0, 6-0 wins over Noggle and Rhoades at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Hetzel and Koppmann beat Reed and Goertz both by 6-2, 6-2 scores at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. Doerfert also picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Justice at No. 6.

Against Oshkosh, Lawatsch improved to 5-1 at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Bailey Sagen. Witt dropped a three-set decision at No. 2 to Alyssa Leffler 6-3, 3-6, 10-7. Paulson also had a three-set setback at No. 3 by a 6-4, 4-6, 10-2 score to Hannah Peters.
