Associate Professor of Art
Art920-403-2946

Debbie Kupinsky is an associate professor of art who oversees the 3D areas of the art discipline, and teaches in art foundations and art history at St. Norbert College. Her background is in ceramic materials and sculptural approaches. Kupinsky’s creative practice explores how objects and images come together and construct meaning. She investigates themes of memory, relationships and the intersection of the natural and manmade world.

Kupinsky’s teaching emphasizes exploration with materials and processes, as well as inquiry into contemporary artists and conceptual motivations. She is interested in helping students find their artistic voice and expand their ideas conceptually.

Her sculptural work uses a variety of materials such as clay, wax, wood, cloth, found objects and drawing. She creates both individual pieces and wall and floor installations that seek to give viewers an immersive experience. Kupinsky maintains a studio in Appleton and shows her work regularly at Abel Contemporary Gallery in Stoughton, Wis.
